According to Sugandi (2012) the problems faced in developing sorghum plants are currently limited to sorghum varieties to be developed according to specific needs. Plant breeding is a solution or effort in developing sorghum plants according to specific needs, the main phases in plant breeding, is to generate genotypic diversity, select genotypes that have desired controlling genes and release the best genotypes / cultivars for production. This study aims to obtain information on the value of genetic diversity and the estimated value of heritability from the frontline of the Local East Java sorghum genotype after keprasan.
The materials used in the study included 8 genotypes of Local sorghum plants (Pasuruan, Lamongan1, Lamongan2, Tuban, Sampang1, Tulungagung1, Tulungagung2, Jombang) originating from several regions in East Java and pearl NPK fertilizers. While the tools used included (hoes, sekrop, slabs, sprinklers, sickles), raffia ropes, scissors, bamboo, nails, hammers, labels, calipers, rulers, meters, stationery and documentation tools. The design used in this study was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 8 genotypes with 3 replications, so that there were 24 experimental units. Parameters observed, Plant Height, Number of Leaves, Stem Diameter, Leaf Width, Leaves Length, Tiller, Panicle Length, Fresh Weight of Seeds per Panicle, Dry Weight of Seeds per Panicle, Fresh Weight of 1000 Seeds, 1000 Dry Weight Seeds, Fresh Weight of Panicle. The data obtained from the research were analyzed using ANOVA (analysis of variants) followed by analysis of genetik variability, predictive analysis of heritability of correlation analysis and cross-print analysis. The analysis uses Microsoft Excel, SPSS, and SAS programs.
