Daftar Isi:
- Edamame Soybean (Glycine max (L) Merril.) is one of the plants that contains many benefits as a source of protein, carbohydrates, and fatty acid balance content (Sudiarti, 2017). According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Edamame soybean production in East Java in 2013-2016 has decreased from 329,461 tons on 274,317 tons (BPS, 2018). The decrease in edamame production is due to the low quality quality of seeds that have been deteriorated. One propobed alternative to increase the quality of seeds that have deteriorated using invigorating techniques. This study aims to determine the effect of concentrations of KNO3 with immersion time on viability, vigor and yield on edamame seeds. This research was conducted at the Laboratory using a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL) trial using 2 factors and field trial design using Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) using the same 2 factors, namely treatment of KNO3 concentration (1%, 3% and 5% ) and using soaking Time (4 hours, 8 hours and 12 hours). The results showed that the KNO3 invigoration treatment and immersion time has not effect to parameters in the laboratory or in the field. The use of 1% KNO3 tended to improve all parameters in the laboratory and in the field. While the 4-hour immersion time gives higher results in improving all parameters except the hypocotyl length and number of leaves.
