- The purpose of this research is to describe the mathematics learning problems in class XI IPS of Batu Islam High School and to get an effort to overcome these problems. These problems are discussed through the results of observations, interviews conducted at Batu Islam High School with data sources and documentation of students, subject teachers, and school principals. This research uses descriptive research which uses a qualitative research approach. The problem found in this research is a problem both related to the problem of the learning process and the subject, namely students and teachers. Efforts that can be made are through training, workshops, seminars, teacher training through MGMP as well as improving understanding of learning strategies and applying skills. These programs can change teachers' beliefs and views on the nature of school mathematics and mathematics (education), through practical operational evidence in their implementation, while overcoming weaknesses in mastering and understanding mathematical material.
