  • Reading corner is the corner in classroom which provide books collection for students to read and support their studying activities. Reading corner management involves teachers and students. Reading corner is a program planned by the government which is in every class must has a reading corner for students to read. This research aims to: (1) Describing how is the management of reading corner as school literacy movement on 3rd grade students at SDN Punten 01 Batu. (2) Describing the obstacles in management of reading corner as school literacy movement on 3rd grade students at SDN Punten 01 Batu. (3) Describing the obstacle’s solutions in management of reading corner as school literacy movement on 3rd grade students at SDN Punten 01 Batu. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at Punten 01 Batu Elementary School in April to May 2019. The subjects of this study were the Principal, Class III Teachers, and Class III students. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. As well as doing source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results show (1) The program of school literacy movement and reading corner has been established from 2015. The management of reading corner involves teachers and students. The reading corner and the books collection are periodically checked, cleaned and updated. (2) The obstacles in management of reading corner as school literacy movement on 3rd grade students at SDN Punten 01 Batu are there is no bookshelf, students still have lack of awareness in caring books and students are not dicipline when borrowing books in reading corner. (3) The solution are school provides boxes with medium sized to put some of books collection in reading corner, the teacher can make a schedule in order to take care of the books and also make rules or punishments for students who are not pay attention to the rules when they borrowing books.
