- This study aims to analyze how much influence the number of industries and economic growth on open unemployment in Malang City. This research took place in Malang City because the number of open unemployment in Malang City was higher than the number of open unemployment in City / Regency in other East Java Provinces. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The technique used for collecting data in this study is the method of literature review or documentation. The data used are secondary data with Time Series testing samples, namely from 2002 - 2017. The data technique used is the method of multiple regression analysis using Ordinary Least Square (OLS), then test the hypothesis that is the F test and t test. For the classic assumption test used the normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multicollinearity test, and autocorrelation test. So that the results obtained that the number of industries negatively and significantly affects open unemployment in the city of Malang with a significant level of 0.0437. And economic growth has a negative and significant effect on open unemployment in Malang City with a significant level of 0.0001.
