  • Background: The prevalence of depression in patients who underwent the hemodialysis is 19,3% - 60,5%. Depression influential in quality of life and the hospitalization higher and disobedience of medical treatment. This study aims to analyze the corelation between depression with the quality of life of chronic renal failure patients who underwent hemodialysis Method: This study uses non-experimental research with correlative descriptive cross sectional,Engineering samples using sampling nonprobability: accidental sampling. The sample used by patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis in March 2019 in Hospital Tk II Dr. Soepraoen Malang, The variables measured is the relationship of depression and quality of life. The instruments used were CES-D and KDQOL SF-36. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test (Rho) with significant α = 0:05. Results: The results showed that the respondents have moderate levels of depression were 22 people (50%) and the level of quality of life were as many as 27 people (61%). P-value (0.000) is less than alpha of 5% showed no association. The correlation states-0.503 meansfairly strong relationship between the two variables. The correlation coefficient (r) is negative (r <0) means that if an increase in the level of depression will be followed by a decrease in the level of quality of life or vice versa. It can be concluded that H1 is accepted, it means that there is a correlation of depression with quality of life in hemodialysis patients. Conclusion: Most of the hemodialysis patients suffer from depression being level and also has the quality of life being. It is affected by the positive affect and high of mental health
