  • In the construction of the college building (GKB) 4 of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, there is a tower crane that is used to lift the material and structure of the building to be installed in the building, with a lifting capacity of 6 tons, a working radius of 56 meters and lift height of 47 meters. From the tower crane specification data, it is planned to design a tower crane with a larger lifting capacity of 10 tons. The purpose of this design is to design a tower crane in the mast section with the appropriate profile, which can support a lifting load of up to 10 tons and the load of the structure above it. The design stages are data collection, design concept making, design calculation, material specification selection and drawing design. Mast section height of 3 meters, and assembled to a height of 45 m. The mast section uses a square profile of HSS (Hollow Structural Steel), with a stem critical force of 921,157.78 N. The elastic deflection that occurs in the tower crane is 2.49 m. Tower crane wind pressure at an altitude of 50 - 60 m at 543.7 N / m2. Wind force at mast height section 40 - 45 is 772.12 N / m.
