  • This study aims to determine the best variation of rpm tool. This study uses several variables, namely fixed variables and independent variables. The fixed variable is aluminum alloy 5083 plate and HSS tool, while the independent variable is tool rotational speed (Rpm) in the welding process. The material used in this study is aluminum alloy type 5083 plate with a thickness of 3 mm and dimensions of length 350 mm x width of 100 mm Variations in rpm tools used are 950, 1250 and 1500. The results of the study the effect of tool rotational speed (Rpm) on tensile strength on aluminum type 5083 plate with the Friction Stir Welding method is the highest to lowest yield stress produced from welding variations of rpm 1500 with a value of 14.77 kgf / mm2, 1250 rpm variation with a value of 5.33 kgf / mm2 and variations in rpm 950 with a value of 4.13 kgf / mm2. At the highest maximum tensile stress test of welding variations of rpm 1500 with a value of 16.416 kgf / mm2, variations in rpm 1250 with a value of 12.67 kgf / mm2 and variations in rpm 950 with a value of 9.633 kgf / mm2. Variation in tool rpm 1500 is rpm the best in welding.
