  • Children are part of the human generation as one of the human resources who are potentials and successors of ideals that have special characteristics and characteristics that require guidance, protection in order to guarantee physical and mental growth and development. This research is based on the phenomenon of social problems experienced by children, lately often receive special attention from the community, namely sexual crimes or sexual abuse of children that have an impact on stress disorders due to the traumatic experience they have experienced, which makes it difficult for children to interact and communicate with their families and environment. This study uses qualitative research with three data collection techniques, interviews, observations, or documentation. While the technique of determining informants using purposive sampling techniques with regard to predetermined criteria, then obtained 3 research subjects, researchers also used data analysis techniques developed by Mathew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman. In the results of the study showed that the interpersonal communication process with the counselor of the sexual abuse client case begins with the desire to communicate carried out by the counselor to find out the conditions experienced by his client. Message delivery is done through face to face and also through media images, songs, objects and religions, depending on how the personal characteristics of different clients. The inhibiting factors in this communication process are the emotional situation of the client and the impaired speech in the client so that it makes it difficult for the counselor to use sign language to communicate with a disability client who has a speech disorder.
