  • Fiscal stress or fiscal pressure is a problem that can hinder the development process of a region. Every region does not want fiscal stress to achieve justice and the welfare of the people in an area. This study aims to determine the condition of fiscal stress and the factors that influence fiscal stress of districts / cities in East Java Province in 2013-2017. This study uses secondary data with the type of data, namely panel data. This research was conducted using quantitative approaches and descriptive methods. The technique used in this study is descriptive statistical analysis using panel data analysis. The results of the study show that simultaneously the independent variables (regional financial performance, PDRB growth, capital expenditure growth, PAD growth) have an effect on the fiscal variable. While partially, the variables that influence the fiscal stress of districts / cities in East Java Province in 2013-2017 are regional financial performance variables, capital expenditure growth and PAD growth. Whereas, PDRB growth did not affect the fiscal stress of districts / cities in East Java Province in 2013-2017.
