  • Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood, at this time adolescence have begun to feel falling to the opposite sex. Where when adolescence who start falling in love will have a feeling of happiness but when teens experience a breakup will feelings of sadness, anger and hate. Someone who is unable to regulate his emotions after breaking up will have feelings of hatred towards his ex-boyfriend. So it is important that there is regulation of emotion in adolescents after breakup so they don’t have hateful emotions towards their ex-boyfriend who might cause a teenager to commit acts of violence or harm. The results of this study were to find out the relationship between emotional regulation and hatred towards ex-girlfriend. The quantitative method is correlational, using purposive sampling technique. The subjects in this study were 199 teenagers, with the criteria of adolescents who had ex-girlsfriends or lovers. This study uses the likert scale emotional regulation and triangular hate scale. The results of this study use the pearson product moment analysis, that there is a negative relationship between emotional regulation and hatred (r = -0,537 ; p =0,000).
