- Success in learning is influenced by several factors, one of which is the method used in the learning process. In the learning process the teacher explains the material using classical methods or methods, so students are less active in learning and learning achievement is less satisfying, therefore it is necessary to do a different method in the delivery of learning material to improve student achievement. This research is a class action research that aims to find out whether the demonstration method can improve students' understanding and achievement in the Hajj material in class VIII at MTs Tribakti Singosari Malang. Researchers examine using a qualitative approach to the type of Classroom Action Research. This classroom action research uses a demonstration method by demonstrating to students the learning material being studied so that the process of receiving learning will be more memorable in depth. This class action research with 2 cycles through 4 stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed that there was an increase in teacher and student activities for each cycle. This can be seen from the analysis of the level of teacher activity for cycles I and II with the categories "good" and "very good" that is81.25 in the first cycle and 89.53 in the second cycle. The activities of students in the first cycle reached 60 while the second cycle reached 89.5. The data shows that students' learning activeness has improved. Whereas the classical completeness obtained by students in the first cycle was 60.71. From the completeness test of learning outcomes in the first cycle there were 12 students who completed it and 11 others who did not complete it. Then the shortcomings must be corrected in the next cycle. The results of tests in the second cycle showed better results than in cycle I. In this second cycle the average student had reached the KKM value. In the second cycle positive changes in the activeness of the students also had an impact on learning interest and mastery learning. There was an increase in learning outcomes with grades classical completeness achieved at 86.95. From the results of research and data analysis it can be concluded that the application of the demonstration method can improve student learning outcomes on Hajj material at MTs Tribakti Singosari Malang. The recommendation of the researcher is so that each school can use methods that are suitable with teaching materials so that the material can be delivered to the maximum
