- Close to the elections day the media more often reviews everything with a political theme and then raises a point of view of events to be made into the news. News in the media will be a tool for political actors to promote or referenced readers to determine their choice, as reported in the 24 June edition of Merdeka. 2018 prefers to raise other issues such as hoaxes on social media with a concentration on politics that occur at the same time. There is an interesting thing done by online media Kuparan.com and Merdeka.com, which is how the two media construct the coverage of the 2019 Presidential Election in the political rubric on September 21-30 2018 edition so that it becomes interesting political news. The purpose of this study was to determine the construction of news coverage in the political rubric in the online media Kumparan.com and Merdeka.com. The researcher uses the analysis method of framing by Zhongdan Pan and Gerald Kosicki with elements that are owned such as syntax, scripts, rhetorical and thematic The results showed that in framing analysis showed the framing of Kumparan.com which always led readers' opinions to the visible syntactic elements in the headlines and rhetorical elements in the use of photographs that showed a couple of Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin and his supporters in the election always building a positive image and building a good image of Jokowi-Ma'ruf while on Merdeka.com when analyzed, the syntactic element of the message is always to use headlines that raise Prabowo-Sandi or his stronghold and tell a lot about the goodness of Prabowo-Sandi and his supporting parties to the script element, it makes this camp look better than its rival by providing news that only exposes good news from the Prabowo-Sandi faction's point of view.
