  • This research describes the role of UN OCHA as an international ‎organization in overcoming the food crisis and malnutrition which occured in ‎Somalia in 2011,where this year Somalia has repaired the most severe disaster in ‎the last 60 years. ‎ This research uses the concept of the role of international organization to ‎frame the of UN OCHA in Somalia, as well as the concept of food security in ‎identifying the situation of the food crisis and malnutrition in Somalia. As for the ‎research method used is descriptive, with data collection techniques through ‎library research.‎ The result of this research shows that the role of UN OCHA in reducing ‎the food crisis and malnutrition through three ways, namely the role as initiator by ‎initiating food voucher program, mobile health clinics, shelter and clean water. ‎Then the role as facilitator is carried out by holding meeting minutes with ‎international actors. Finally, the role of UN OCHA as determinator is realized by ‎creating a platform of Consolidated Appeal Process (CAP).‎
