  • Iraqi Kurds as ethnic minorities have suffered oppression and discrimination while living in the power of the regime in power in Iraq. Every time the Kurdish protest and rebellion to reach its demands to the government are always countered with violence to the genocide which has claimed many lives. Knowing the humanitarian crisis case, the United States is here to help Iraqi Kurds fight for their rights, justice and demand their freedom. But in the end after the Iraqi Kurds succeeded in developing into an autonomous region and wanted to establish a Kurdistan state it turned out that the United States was also involved in Iraq's refusal to establish the country. The author uses a type of qualitative research with descriptive research methods to study through the point of view of classical realism which argues that state actions are based on cost and benefit considerations, the principle of struggle for power and are associated with the concept of intervention and national interest, resulting in findings that the United States's rejection of Kurdistan is a series of US policies in an effort to achieve national interests in Iraq and the KRG in the political, economic and security fields.
