- Work engagement plays an important role for positive outcomes in the workplace. Insecurity feeling toward continuation and future of work will be a trigger for work engagement decreased. The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between job insecurity and work engagement. This study uses 113 contract employees as subjects with a contract period of no more than three years. The data in this study were taken using a job insecurity questionnaire and UWES (Utrecht's work engagement scale). The results of this study indicate that there is a negative relationship between job insecurity and work engagement. The importance of developing employee capacity and define clear careerpath could help to increase work engagement and reduce job insecurity.
