  • Mathematical reasoning is very important in mathematics learning because it is a competency that is used as the basis for mathematical thinking. If students' mathematical reasoning develops, their ability to solve mathematical problems will also develop. However, student's mathematical reasoning abilities in Indonesia in solving problems are still relatively low. This is caused by several intelligence factors and students experience anxiety or fear in working on the problem. A person's intelligence in facing difficulties or anxieties in facing problems is called Adversity Quotient (AQ). AQ can harmonize and characterize a person to face difficulties that are experienced. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze how the mathematical reasoning process of students in solving mathematical problems is seen from the level of intelligence of the Adversity Quotient (AQ) they have. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative approach to determine the student's mathematical reasoning process in solving mathematical problems in terms of Adversity Quotient (AQ). Based on the analysis carried out, students with AQ Quitter did not take the stage of mathematical manipulation and draw conclusions, students with AQ Camper did not carry out the stages of mathematical manipulation, and students with AQ Climber did all stages of problem solving.
