- Self-regulated learning (SRL) is a strategy to regulate self through cognition, metacognition, and motivation. The aim of this study was to determine differences in SRL among students based on gender, using quantitative comparative research methods. The subjects of this study were 120 students from all faculties at the year of 2012-2018 at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The data analysis used is an independent samples t-test for the SRL scale. The results showed that female students had higher SRL scores (122,57) compared to the male students (115,98). In the dimensions of performance and self-reflection, there are significant differences between male and female students where female students showed higher score (performance score of 47.70 and self-reflection 37,42). Compared to the male students ( performance dimension is 44,47 and self-reflection is 35,37). Meanwhile, there is no significant differences in the cognitive dimension between male and female students.
