- This study aims to analyze the leading economic sector, highly competitive and has the potential to be developed to support economic growth in the City of Sorong, West Papua Province. The analytical tools used are SLQ and DLQ, Shift Share and Klassen Typology. The results of the combined analysis of SLQ and DLQ show that the leading sectors with SLQ and DLQ criteria> 1 are the Construction sector SLQ 2.17 and DLQ 1.21; Transportation and Warehousing SLQ 2.97 and DLQ 1.00; Information and Communication SLQ 3.58 and DLQ 1.06; Real Estate SLQ 2.61 and DLQ 1.01; Government Administration, Defense and Social Security Required SLQ 1.20 and DLQ 1.23; Health Services and Social Activities SLQ 2.60 and DLQ 1.36. The Shift Share analysis results show that the highly competitive sector with a Cij value> 0 is the Construction sector; Government Administration, Defense, and Mandatory Social Security; Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries. The results of the Klassen Typology analysis show that the potential sectors with certain sector growth criteria are larger with the same sector in the reference area but the contribution is smaller are the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sectors; Mining and excavation.
