- Economic development is characterized by increasing economic growth while at the same time promoting economic growth. Indonesia and Malaysia are developing countries with reasonably good economic growth and have increased from year to year despite having experienced economic crises that made economic growth in Indonesia and Malaysia less stable. This study aims to determine the effect of exports, foreign debt and the exchange rate on economic growth (a comparison between Indonesia and Malaysia). This study uses a quantitative approach. The data used in the form of secondary data from Indonesia and Malaysia from 1981 - 2016. Data analysis techniques used in this study use time series with multiple regression models and time series data and cross section with panel models. The results showed that: Partially, Exports and Foreign Debt had a positive and significant effect on the economic growth of Indonesia and Malaysia. Indonesian Exchange Rates have a positive but not significant effect on Economic Growth. While in Malaysia it is contradictory, namely the exchange rate variable has a negative and significant influence on economic growth. Simultaneously shows that the variable Export and Foreign Debt has a positive and significant effect on economic growth both in Indonesia and Malaysia, while the exchange rate variable has a negative and significant effect both in Indonesia and Malaysia.
