- Pragmatics is the study of speakers’ meaning and being influenced by the context situation. The objectives of this research were to find out the kinds of speech acts employed in Oprah Winfrey’s “Your Truth is the Most Powerful Tool” and to find out the types of arrangement of classical rhetoric speech delivered by Oprah Winfrey’s entitled “Your Truth is the Most Powerful Tool”. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative research. The object of this research is Oprah Winfrey’s speech entitled “Your Truth is the Most Powerful Tool”. The speech was conducted in the 75th Golden Globes Award on January 7th 2018. The researcher roles are planning, collecting, and analyzing the data. In addition, watching the video of the speech, finding the transcript, making data sheets, categorizing and analyzing the data were done during the data collection. The research findings shows that there are a total of 40 speech acts discovered. Surprisingly, all kinds of illocutionary acts such as declaration, representative, commissive, directive and expressive were seen in the speech. Moreover, the types of the arrangement of classical rhetoric were 29. All elements were seen in the speech such as introduction, statement of facts, division, proof and conclusion.
