- This study is done on October 22 - December 2007 in Bolorejo study Center in Kauman district and in UMM (University of Muhammadiyah Malang) fishery laboratory. This study aims at finding out the length of Egg of Gouramy Soaking (Osphronemus Gouramy) in Metiltestosteron hormone toward the success of male. And the hatching rate and finding out of those which can produce the best male zygote. The study method used is complete random sampling. The treatment used is by applying the different of egg soaking : 2, 4, 6, and 8 hours of soaking in metiltestosteron hormone and those without uncontrolled soaking process. Each of these treatments is repeated three times. The test parameter is the male zygote percentage and the hatching rate. the data analyses is done by variant analysis. The result of the study shows that there is a significant difference (about 5% table < F count < F table 1%) on the treatment. The highest male percentage in the treatment soaking process for four hours is about 83.333%. The length of this soaking process (Osphronemus Gouramy) in metiltestosteron does not show the difference of the hatching rate and the survival rate. Based on the study result, it is concluded that the length of Gouramy egg soaking (Osphronemus Gouramy) in metiltestosteron for about four hours shows the highest male zygote percentage.
