  • Learning English is a basic purpose needed in education. Primary school ages are an important time for children to learn the second language. In teaching and learning process in English for Young Learners class, the student teachers using multiple intelligences to make the learning process more fun and make the students focus on their activities. This research was conducted to find out the types of multiple intelligences activated in English for Young Learners class, the reasons in activating multiple intelligences, and the way in incorporating multiple intelligences by student teachers. This research used qualitative research in order to analyze the data. The data was obtained through observation, document analysis and interview. It was found that the types of multiple intelligences activated by English for Young Learners student teachers were linguistic intelligence, logical-mathematical intelligence. visual-spatial intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, interpersonal intelligence and naturalist intelligence. There was also found the reasons for activating multiple intelligences, the needs of activating four languge skills and avoiding many translations in the first languge. The research finding also showed the ways in incorporating multiple intelligences in the classes. Multiple intelligences activities in lesson plan and the activities with multiple intelligences created spontaneously.
