- This sports news classification uses the C 5.0 algorithm based on ontology. Ontology process is performed at preprocessing stage, the WordNet is taken from kateglo.com as an ontology base to find a synonymous words. As for the process of classification using C 5.0 algorithm. The research data is taken from the website sport.detik.com, the data used as much as 420 datasets. Additionally, the training process on the training document resulted in the construction of rule tree which was used for the categorization of the testing document. Testing for system using dataset of 400 for training documents, while 20 for testing documents. The experiment result show that highesti precision, recall, dan f-measure value is 100%, 80%, 88.89%. Based on those experiment result, it can be concluded that the C5.0 algorithm is very good for the classification of text.
