The extent of the use of MIG welding because the welding can be performed automatically and has a high reliability. Weld toughness is influenced by many factors such as heat input, strong currents, filler and inert gas, welding speed and cooling rate.
Ends to the achieved in this research is to gain strength so that MIG welding connection for the better.
Experiments conducted using low carbon steel materials or construction with the variation of heat input of 2.291 kJ / mm, 3.208 kJ / mm and 4.125 kj / mm in the welding plate V at the hem, with a welding speed of 4.8 mm / s and 220 voltage Vo with variations in welding current from 50 Amper, 70 Amper, and 90 Amper.
