- ABSTRACT Relationship Between Nurse Therapeutic Communication Application and Patient Satisfaction in Class III Rumkit Tk. II dr. Soepraoen Ratna Dwi Ayuningtyas1, Nur Aini2, Nur Melizza3 Background: Nurses need therapeutic communication to developing trust in relationship with patients, so nurses knowing patients’s feeling and needs. If this condition can be fulfilled properly by the nurse, the patient would be satisfy. To bring outpatient satisfaction, nurses' skills are needed to implementing good therapeutic communication to patients. Research Objectives: The aims of this study is to determined the relationship between nurse therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction in the Class III Rumkit Tk. II dr. Soepraoen. Research Methods: The type of research is a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. Sample in this study was taken using accidental sampling technique. This research was conducted in June of 2019. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and questionnaires. Research Results: The results of the study showed that overall nurse therapeutic communication was mostly (96.7%) in the good category and patients satisfaction result were mostly (73.3%) in the satisfied category. Results of the bivariate analysis using spearman correlation showed a significant value of 0.016 (p <0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.436. Conclusion: There is a positive significant correlation between therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction, meaning that better therapeutic communication carried out by nurses had an impact in increasing patient satisfaction and degree of correlation strength at an adequate level. Suggestions from this research are, it is expected Rumkit Tk. II Dr. Soepraoen can maintain and continue to improve nurse therapeutic communication to create more optimal health services.
