- Timor Leste is a small country in southeast Asia region and get their freedom in 2002. Since this year Timor Leste did relation with countries, international organization and region. Since in geographical, Timor Leste existed in Southeast Asia region so the government took decision to join ASEAN, the government did all efforts to join ASEAN member, and target stated by Timor Leste to be ASEAN member was 2012. The result in this research how to know efforts done by Timor Leste. One effort done by Timor Leste was opened ASEAN secretary in Dili. The research aimed to reveal all efforts done by Timor Leste to be ASEAN member. Concept used in this research was regionalism and foreign policy. All structured in main idea into a description to answer the statements of problem. The research used library research data collection technique and descriptive analysis data technique.
