UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIJAMUR FRAKSI n-HEKSANA UMBI Eleutherine palmifolia (L) TERHADAP Candida albicans DENGAN METODE DIFUSI CAKRAM
Daftar Isi:
- Background : The one caused of candidiasis is the infection of the fungus Candida albicans. Most of the irrational uses of antifungals can make pathogenic microbes become resistant, so that the development of new drugs is needed to wich can against the infection. Objective : The aim of the study is to find out secondary metabolites which founded on the n-Hexane fraction of Eleutherine palmifolia and obtained the diameter inhibition zone of Eleutherine palmifolia n-Hexane fraction to Candida albicans growths. Method : To find out an antifungal activity testing that’s using disc diffusion methods. Eleutherine palmifolia tuber n-Hexane fraction with maceration level methods, then secondary metabolites identified with KLT methods and doing a fungal activity testing with disc diffusion methods. The concentration used was 80 mg/ml, 120 mg/ml, and 160 mg/ml. negative control which used was Tween 10% and aquadest sterilization, while positive control used was Nystatin 50μg/disc. Solution test and control test putt on the Sabouraud Dextrose Agar media that has been spread fungal suspension then incubated on 37 o C for 24 hours. Result and Conclusion : The result of the secondary metabolites identification with KLT was showing positive results on terpenoid in which it given purple spot, flavonoid given yellow intensive spot color, and Alkaloid given brownish spot color. The result of antifungal Eleutherine palmifolia n-Hexane fraction against Candida albicans with 80 mg/ml, 120 mg/ml, 160 mg/ml provide a inhibitory zone. Then it will be concluded that was n-Hexane fraction of Eleutherine palmifolia has biology activities as antifungal.
