Daftar Isi:
- The forest fires have a huge impact on the wider community, especially the haze pollution that is not only detrimental to the Indonesian people but also in regional area. In addition to the environmental impact of haze pollution, this event also has a major impact on stability in the health, social, economic, tourism sectors and have influenced to diplomatic relations of Indonesia. By using Transnational Environmental Crime and Institutionalist World View approach this research found that Forest and land fires are largely due to the expansion of large-scale and unfriendly land clearing by plantation companies, especially Oil Palm Industry. This practice has long been resolved and difficult to be overcome because many actors are involved in the process of forest and land destruction. These actors not only come from local companies, but also from foreign parties who have been expanding in Indonesia for a long time, so this case is categorized as Transnational Environmental Crime, which is an environmental crime that crosses national borders. The urgency of forest fire cases has made the Indonesian government make various efforts to tackle the problem of forest fires, one of which is the ratification of international cooperation in overcoming the haze disaster called the Asean Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution, and followed by bilateral cooperation between Indonesia-Malaysia and Indonesia-Singapore.
