- This study examines the independence with hearing impairment in the Kartika Mutiara Community Kec. Pakisaji Kab. Malang. Kartika Mutiara Community is a community that cares for disabled children in the district of Kec. Pakisaji. Disabled people with hearing impairment are those who have a lack of hearing and taste, limitations when doing activities are problem for them if they have to do activities in private. The purpose of the study was to determinethe independence of children with hearing impairment and to find out obstacles and support for parents. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptivetypes. The data collection techniques that researchers use are observation, interview and documentation. While the data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The result of this study indicate that the independence of children with disabilities of hearing impairment there are 3 types of independence, namely (1) learning (2) daily activities (3) attitude. Obstacles and support obtained is the realization of effort to increase the independence of children with hearing impairment.
