  • New media is developing very rapidly in Indonesia, based on the 2018 APJII survey which was announced by teenagers as the biggest internet users. Many teenagers use the internet to browsing Instagram. Teenagers are not only active in spending but they are also active in uploading photos in Instagram. Photo uploads on Instagram approved by OOTD, selfies, wefies, quotes, memes and many other photos. Because of the large variety of photos, the researchers chose this theme. With the problem that is what kind of photos uploaded on Instagram social media and the number of times a variety of photos appear on Instagram accounts. The research method used is descriptive method using quantitative. The sampling technique uses Taro Yamane and the researcher chooses the followers of @official_rays as the population. To calculate data, use the holsty formula. Researchers used the theory of Use and Gratification and found conclusions as a photo with the category of humans as the object of photo that most often appears with a percentage of 80.5% in late teens and 81.9% in early teens. The most dominant sub-category is selfies or wefies. It can be concluded from the number of photos found that this shows the existence of "narcistic", namely self-confidence. They send selfies or wefies to Instagram for the need to explain themselves, the need to consider and consider others. They want to look good, and get positive feedback from other friends. So many teenagers use the Instagramto meet these needs and desires.
