  • Background: The use of computers for long periods of time with static work positions will cause myofascial trigger point problems, especially the levator scapula muscle. These problems will cause pain and disrupt work activities. Myofascial release and contract relax are manual techniques that play a role in myofascial trigger point problems. Objective: This study was conducted to compare the effect of myofascial release technique with contract relax stretching on the reduction of myofascial trigger point pain in the levator scapula muscle in Probolinggo City police officers. Research method: The design of this study is Quasi Experiment Pretest and Posttest Two Group Design. Respondents in this study were 30 members of the Probolinggo City police station with a purposive sampling technique using the NRS pain measurement scale. Results: Paired T-Test results obtained probability values (0,000 <0,05), then H1 is accepted. As for the results of the Independent T-Test, the probability values (0.355> 0.05) were obtained, so that it could be concluded that H1 was rejected. Conclusion: There is no comparison of the effect of myofascial release with contract relax on the decrease in myofascial trigger point levator scapula pain in Probolinggo City Police officers.
