- This research intended to investigate how the application of Structure Numbered Heads learning model using mind mapping strategy in mathematics learning, how the level of students’ learning activities employed the application of Structure Numbered Heads model utilizing mind mapping strategy, and how the suitability of students in developing mind mapping in mathematics learning. The type of research was applied research with a quantitative approach. The object of the research was students of VII-A class in the amount of 32 students. The research instruments were observation sheets, assessment sheets for mind mapping preparing, lesson plan, and worksheets. The data analysis techniques in this research utilized the formula for the average percentage of teacher’s and students’ activities and the formula for the average percentage of mind mapping composing. The results of data analysis showed that the data on the percentage of teacher’s activity was 92.39%, students’ learning activities of students were 85.04% and the suitability of mind mapping preparation was 87.11%. Based on the results of the research, it could be concluded that the application of the Structure Numbered Heads learning model with mind mapping strategy could be implemented using the planned syntax learning. It could improve the learning activities of students and students were able to compile the mind mapping in accordance with the material and the drafting provisions of mind mapping.
