- News credibility is very important by means of affecting the credibility of its media, especially in online journalism which is currently developing more rapidly. The researcher was interested in knowing the credibility of online media that prioritized the speed of information. It often conveys errors in transmitting the information. This influences changes by means of meaning and news quality. This study aimed to find out about how large the online media credibility level on news of hoax Ratna SarumpAet beating incidents on Detik.com and Tribunnews.com. The type of research used was descriptive quantitative research with content analysis methods. The researcher examined all the Ratna Sarumpaet beating accident news on October 2-8 2019 on Detik.com and Tribunnews.com. The total news that was obtained was 107 on Detik.com and 124 on Tribunnews.com. Further, the researcher conducted an analysis using a coding sheet. The results showed that by means of trustworthiness category, Detik.com obtained 94% and Tribunnews.com received 83%, both of which were very credible. In the accuracy category, both were credible with 79% for Detik.com and 77% for tribunnews.com. In the bias category, detik.com got 41% or was quite credible, while tribunnews.com got 40% or not credible. While the completeness category, detik.com was very credible with a result of 84% while tribunnews.com was credible with a result of 77%.
