- Violence was not always done for violence. Violence as human action was always has reason, importance, and certain aim. Many theories could be stated to explain the dominant violence. One of them was influence of the mass media. Mass medi gave various influence to the society and group in collective way since mass media able to present figure and reality image. One of the mass media product which present figure and reality image was movie. Statement of problems in this movie was how many violence containing showed in Saw III movie. The research aimed to find out how many violence containing showed in Saw III movie. In general, violence was divided into two, physical and psychological violences. Physical violence was real violence, could be seen and felt when the violence happened or after it, the effect could stay for the rest of life like scar or physical defect. Psychological violence aimed to the psychology or mental so that could harm memories and normal psychology of a person. Category structure in this research used as basic to watch and describe the violence in Saw III was physical violence with indication harmed and killed; psychological violence with indication dominating, threatening, and abusing. The research used contain analysis with descriptive statistic tool. The research aimed to presented message frame in accurate way. The research used scenes containing acting and dialogue as the important parts of a movie. The research used frequency of violence containing presence. From total 107 scenes, there found 30 scenes in Saw III contained violence. Psychological violence came in 19 scenes or 63,33%. From three indication of psychological violence stated by the writer, the writer found that psychological violence message with domination indication was presented often than threatening and abusing. Domination indication was presented in 9 scenes with 47.36% presence percentage; threatening was presented in 5 scenes with 26.31% presence percentage; similar with abuse presence, 11 times or 36.66%. From two indication of physical violence existed, the writer found that physical violence message with killling indication was more than harm indication. Killing indication was presented in 6 scenes with presence percentage 54.54% while harm indication was presented in 5 scenes with presence percentage 45.45%. From both categories, the writer found that the violences existed in Saw III movie dominated by psychological violence. The conclusion was, violence contain in Saw III movie dominated by violence which attacked mental. For some audiences, psychological violence was not considered as violence. They thought that the violence was consisted of harm and kill. In fact, the effect of psychological violence could be harmed more than physical violence.
