  • Teacher body language usage in delivering message of a learning material to students in SD Muhammadiyah 4 Elementary School of Batu can be different. According to Regulation Number 20 year 2003 about National Education System section 40, where the educator obligation is creating fun learning atmosphere. Good learning management is supported by teacher body language, especially as nonverbal communication. This research purposes is finding out (1) Form of teacher body language in learning activity, and (2) quality of teacher body language in learning activities. The research uses qualitative research method by observation data collection technique, interview, and documentation. As data source, it is selected teacher of grade I-A in SD Muhammadiyah 4 State Elementary School of Batu. The research is starting in January 2016. Result shows (1) Form of teacher body language in delivering non verbal communication is by using smile, open posture, tend to front, touch, eye contact, nod, and head gesture, encouragement, and mood, hand gesture, body position and foot position, facial expression and voice intonation. (2) Teacher who has expressive character will show better gesture than teacher who tend to be less expressive in delivering learning material. It can be seen from how often body language form used by teacher in delivering learning material.
