But most of the soybean industry in general population still uses ordinary boiling system (with water), this led to many soy nutrient content is lost and thrown away along with the cooking water. The purpose of this design is to produce steam boiler design for tempeh industry needs. This design is also customized with the selection of the fuel easily available in the market which uses wood fuel Sengon. Sengon has a density (320-640 kg / m&#xB3;) with a water content of 15%. Solid wood type, straight and coarse fibrous.&#xD; This design refers to the ASME standard. These design steps consist of: calculating energy and heat power, steam capacity, vapor pressure, steam discharge, steam temperature, pipe temperature, pressure in the fire pipe, and calculating the dimensions of the boiler.
