- Wisesa, Agra M. 2019. “Effect of Red Ginger Extract (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) on IL-6 images in White Mice (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain induced by pyrazinamide, ethambutol, levofloxacin”. Final assignment, Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Advisor : (I) dr. Thontowi Djauhari, NS., M.Kes, (II) dr. Feny Tunjungsari M.Kes. Background: The use of antibiotics such as the drug levofloksacin, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol is often consumed, especially in tuberculosis patients. When consumed repeatedly this drug has high toxicity so that it can cause inflammation that we can see through the expression of IL-6. For this reason, researcher want to use red ginger extract which contains oleoresin, gingerol, and shogaol can be used to reduce inflammation due to side effects of the drug. Objective: : To determine the effect of red ginger extract on IL-6 images in Wistar strain white rats induced by pyrazinamide, ethambutol, levofloxacin. Methods: Experimental post test only group design, using a feeding tube with ginger fruit extract and levofloxacin drug, pyrazinamide, ethambutol administered to male white rats divided by 5 groups, negative control, positive control, ginger extract 100 mg, 200 mg and 400 mg. Data analysis using One Way Anova test. Results : The results showed that there was a decrease in IL-6 levels in the red ginger extract group towards the positive control group. The One Way Anova test shows p = 0,000 which means there is a significant effect. Conclusion: Ginger extract significantly affected the IL-6 levels Keywords: Red ginger extract, IL-6, pyrazinamide, ethambutol, levofloxacin
