- English is very important to be learned because English is an international language. There are four language skills which have to be mastered, they are writing, listening, reading, and speaking. In speaking there are some component influencing how proficient people in speaking English; there are component of grammar pronunciation, fluency, and vocabulary. This study focuses on the research problems; 1. What are the problem faced by Thai students in speaking English skill at University of Muhammadiyah Malang? 2. How do Thai students solve their problems in speaking English skill?, This study aims to find what the problem faced by Thai students are in speaking English skill at University of Muhammadiyah Malang, and to find the ways how Thai students solve thier problem in speaking English skill. The researcher used descriptive qualitative design and the instrument used in this study that was interview. The researcher took six Thai students of English department academic year 2014 in University of Muhammadiayah Malang as the subject of research. The result of this research showed that there are some problem faced by Thai students in learning speaking. Based on the result of interview, there are two problems; linguistic factors and non-linguistic factors. Six Thai students faced linguistic problems include less of vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Non-linguistic problems include students, teacher, material, facility, motivation and method. The ways to solve their problems are finding the appropriate way in speaking English skill, making a note and create speaking opportunity.
