- This research aims to a knowledge muzakki’s behavior in paying zakat and infaq on Zakat Indonesia Initiative Institution (IZI) branch Surabaya. Research methods used is qualitative research with phenomenology approach where knowledge-related study arise in consciousness, describe what’s understood by muzakki in his consciousness and experiences. For the method of collecting data in this research is the data obtained from interview of 5 informants among others are 1 informant as amil of IZI that is EKZ manager, 4 other informants are muzakki from various profession which are salesman, private teacher, officer in ticketing part, and government employee. Observation is performed by direct contact with IZI office. The result of this research shown that muzakki’s behavior in paying zakat and infaq on IZI Institution based of some factors which are behavior based on muzakki’s conviction, behavior based on environment, behavior based on conscious interests, behavior based on spontaneous interests (reflex motion), and behavior based on external factor in form of follow-up. Paying zakat that has done by the informant cause a lot of impact towards their life, there are some that got their sustenance more smoothly, inner peace, happiness, happy, trusted in office and also in form of children great achievements.
