- Organic planting pots is one solution to the problem in using plastic polybags. Organic planting pots have the advantage of being easily decomposed and can contribute enough nutrients. Polybags including plastic materials that are difficult to decompose by soil microbes, thus affecting plant growth, causing soil pollution. This study aims to examine the use of organic polybog based on water hyacinth and coconut fiber with the addition of goat manure to the growth and yield of large red chili (Capsicum annuum L.). This research was conducted from August to December 2018. This research was conducted using a simple Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 1 control repeated 3 times. The treatment to be tested is as follows: P0: control ie plastic polybag, PO1: Hyacinth Hyacinth: Coconut coir (40g: 60g) + goat manure 1 g, PO2: Hyacinth Hyacinth: Coconut coir (50g: 50g) + goat manure 1 g, PO3: Hyacinth Hyacinth: Coconut Fiber (60g: 40g) + goat manure 1 g, PO4: Hyacinth Hyacinth: Coconut Fiber Coir (70g: 30g) + goat manure 1 g, and PO5: Hyacinth Hyacinth: Coconut Fiber ( 80g: 20g) + goat manure 1 g. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the treatment of organic planting pots made from water hyacinth 40 g: 60 g coconut fiber (PO1) showed the best results on vegetative observation variables, namely on plant height, and number of leaves. The treatment of the use of organic planting pots in the comparison of water hyacinth 70g: 30g coconut fiber (PO4) showed the best results on generative observation variables, namely the number of flowers, number of fruits and wet weight of fruit. The treatment of the use of organic planting pots made from water hyacinth and coconut fiber in large red chili has different optimization values, the optimization value of plant height is water hyacinth 79 g: coconut fiber 60 g, number of leaves and diamter of water hyacinth 80 g coconut fiber 60 g, and the optimization value of fruit amounts to 45.25% water hyacinth and coconut fiber 10 g.
