  • Implementation teaching in the context of education elementary school in the modern era is not just about teaching subject matter but also managing the environment so that students can learn to develop their abilities is the main task of teachers, efforts to improve the quality of teaching is one of them by applying learning models. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of thelearning model Snowball Throwing on the learning outcomes of tema 8 on class V students at MI Bustanul Ulum Kota Batu. This type of research uses Quasy Experimental Design with the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design, to test learning outcomes using pretest and posttest. The population in this study were class V MI Bustanul Ulum Kota Batu 2018/2019 academic year consisting of 107 students, the sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique totaling 72 students, 36 students were given treatment learning model Snowball Throwing, and 36 students for the control class Conventional learning is carried out using the lecture, question and answer, and assignments that are usually done at school. The data obtained were then analyzed using parametric statistics with the help of software SPSS 21.0 For Windows. The results showed that there was a significant effect on student learning outcomes with thelearning model Snowball Throwing, evidenced through the prerequisite and hypothesis tests with the following results: a) normality test usingtest smirnov columnogues obtained the value of experimentalsig 0.252> 0.05 experimental post sig 0.467 > 0.05 for pretest control class sig 0.252> 0.05 so the research data is normally distributed. b) Homogeneity test obtained sig value 0.230> 0.05, the research data is homogeneous or the same. c) hypothesis testing using independent samples t test obtained t count 3.940> t table 1.464 and sig value (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0.05 means H0 rejected /H1 accepted. Then it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the application of thelearning model Snowball Throwing to the learning outcomes of theme 8 on grade V students at MI Bustanul Ulum Kota Batu.
