- One of television shows that is most broadcasted on Indonesian television is Reality Show. This show is able to attract the viewers’ attention and increase the rating of the show. However, in the television industry, especially on the entertainment show tends to commercialize private problems of people or even the disgrace and privacy of them that has economic value. One of Reality Shows which shows the event content of someone’s private problem who becomes the client of the show is “Rumah Uya”. This show is highlighted by the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) and has received 2 written reprimand letter and 1 warning letter. “Rumah Uya” show has received letters from KPI because it violates the respect and right of privacy of the broadcast object’s life and also presents the private conflict until the guests reveal their own disgrace. The personal conflict that occurs between the guests who involve in “Rumah Uya” can trigger verbal and non-verbal violence. Therefore, this research was done to find out the forms of Verbal and Non-Verbal Violence emerged in the Reality Show of “Rumah Uya” and how great was the frequency of the violence, and this research also aimed at knowing the change of violence on “Rumah Uya” show on the Cluster episode of three weeks after receiving the written reprimand and warning from KPI. This research was descriptive quantitative research with content analysis method. The sampling technique used by the researcher was Cluster Sampling covered Cluster episode before receiving the written reprimand and warning from KPI and Cluster episode of three weeks after receiving the written reprimand and warning from KPI. The object of the research was the Reality Show program of Rumah Uya on TRANS7 on the Cluster episode before receiving the written reprimand and warning from KPI as many as 5 episode and Cluster episode of three weeks after receiving the written reprimand and warning from KPI as many as 5 episode with the analysis unit in the form of shot. The researcher used the Message Logic Theory of Barbara O’Keefe to explain how the thinking process that is going to happen to emerge a message, so there will be a lot of “message diversity”. If the goal to be achieved by the communicator and communicant is different, it will cause different perception and has a potential conflict until verbal and non-verbal violence occur.
