- The research was motivated by the lack of students' ability in learning Al Islam. Students have never learned to use audio visual at all, previous learning is done in a monotonous way that makes students feel bored. The teacher conducts learning using the lecture method, so that Al Islam learning is less effective. This resulted in a decrease in student achievement in Al-Islam lessons. The objectives of this study include (1) describing an increase in student achievement and understanding in Al-Islam lessons using the audio visual method. (2) describe the process of improving student achievement and understanding in Al-Islam lessons using the audio visual method. The method used in this study is Class Action Research (CAR). The subject of this study was class IX Muhammadiyah Middle School 02 Batu City. The results of the study using the audio visual method of Al Islam learning showed an increase in the learning process, seen from each cycle, the average value in the first cycle was 84.75% then in the second cycle to 88.5% and there was an increase in student learning achievement in the lesson Al Islam by using the audio visual method.
