- Massacres and arrests of tortoises to take their meat and eggs for sale or consumption which is conducted by local citizens in Dusun Bendogolor, Desa Wonocoyo, Kecamatan Panggul make the population of turtles decreased. Therefore, researcher interested in conducting research on supervisory community as group organizations (POKMASWAS) turtles conservation on Taman Kili-Kili beach, which is formed for save and preserve turtles to awareness of local citizens. This research aims to describe and explain the role of POKMASWAS to awareness of the community and impact caused by the role of POKMASWAS. The research method use the ethnographic approach by observing participants in their daily activities of POKMASWAS. The data collections used observation, deeply interview to eight speakers, and turtle conservation documentation of Taman Kili-Kili beach. The result of this research and the data analysis obtained that the role of POKMASWAS to save and preserve turtles to awareness turtle conservations towards society are, work program planning or achievement of work program or socialization activity, applying traditions and legal sanctions, Sarah Sechan, utilize social media, supervise and care for turtle, release of turtle tradition, and strengthening of POKMASWAS. The role of POKMASWAS has a good impact for the local environment both morally and materially.
