PENGARUH VARIASI KADAR PVA DAN PROPILEN GLIKOL PADA SEDIAAN “PEEL OFF MASK” KOMBINASI TEA TREE OIL DAN NIASINAMIDA
Daftar Isi:
- Background: Peel off Mask containing Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide which have antibacterial benefits, formulated using a Polyvinyl Alcohol base and Propylene Glycol plasticizers. Objective: To determine the physical and chemical characteristics, stability, and hedonic on the peel off mask combination of Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide. Method: Combination of Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide formulated into 4 formulas peel off mask with concentrations of Polyvinyl Alcohol and Propylene Glycol are 5%:5%, 10%:5%, 5%:10%, and 10%:10%. The analysis was done in a descriptive includes organoleptic, type of emulsion, homogeneity, and stability and quantitative analyis includes viscosity, time to dry, dispersion, and pH by Analyse Factorial Design test. Results and Conclusions: From the research results it is showed that all formulas have oil in water (O/W) emulsion type, soft texture, white colour, smelled of tea tree oil, and homogenous. The results of the viscosity of formulas I, II, III, and IV are 4099 cPs, 13977 cPs, 3099 cPs, and 10666 cPs, the spread results are 0.1462 g / cm, 0.0803 g / cm, 0.0842 g / cm and 0.0754 g / cm , the results of the time to dry are 28 minutes, 19 minutes, 30 minutes, and 20 minutes, the pH test results are 6.72, 6.69, 7.22, and 6.91, Freeze-Thaw pH stability results are 6.57, 6.69, 7.22, and 6.91. In the stability test all formulas are stable. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded of peel off mask combination of Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide with variations in the levels of Polyvinyl Alcohol and Propylene Glycol affect on viscosity and time to dry and have no affect on organoleptic, homogeneity, type of emulsion, pH, dispersion, and stability.
