Daftar Isi:
- Background: Ginger, cinnamon and clove extract with polyphenol, flavonoids, saponins, tannins as antioxidants is considered has function as a hepatoprotector. Eugenol is a dominant compound from the identification of these extract that prevented increases in AST and ALT serum level through oxidative stress pathway. Objective: To know the effect of Ginger, cinnamon and clove extract on the changing of the AST and ALT serum level on Streptozotocin Induced Rats. Method: True experimental with post test only control group design. The sample of rats were divided into 8 groups: 1 control group and 8 treatment groups were given STZ dose 60 mg/gramBW, ginger extract 100 mg/gramBW/day, cinnamon extract 100 mg/gramBW/day, clove extract 100 mg/gramBW/day, combination of ginger, cinnamon and clove extract 25 mg/gramBW/day, combination of ginger, cinnamon and clove extract 50 mg/gramBW/day and combination of ginger, cinnamon and clove extract 100 mg/gramBW for 14 days. Data were analyzed using normality test, homogeinity test, kruskal-wallis, one way annova, post hoc bonferoni, pearson and linier regression. Result and Discussion: The extract of ginger, cinnamon, clove and its combination did not showed significant difference between groups with p=0,092. The result of post hoc bonferoni, Pearson and linier regression could not be tested because not quilfy in normality and homogeinity test between control group and each treatment groups. Non-parametric test showed no significant result. In the descriptive results, it has been concluded that most of group except cinnamon extract dose 100 mg/gramBW/day has an increased serum level of AST and ALT. Conclusion: There is no significant effect of ginger, cinnamon, clove and its combination extract
