- Background: Memory impairment were one of effect caused by hypertension. Jujube leaves (Ziziphus mauritiana Lam) had active ingredients which is believed can control hypertension therefore prevents memory deficit especially spatial memory in white rats. Aim: to observe the effect of jujube leaves extract (Ziziphus mauritiana Lam) in memory score of white rats with hypertension induced by NaCl and Prednison. Methode: true experimental with Post test-only Control group design. Rats were divided to 5 group consisted of 2 control groups and 3 groups with jujube leaves exctract: 200mg/Kg/day, 400mg/Kg/Day, and 800mg/Kg/Day. Memory function were measured by Radial Arm Maze to measure spatial memory function in subject. Data were analyzed with One-Way ANOVA and then Post-hoc Bonferroni. Results: all groups were found to be significant (p = 0,00) in One-Way ANOVA test. In Post hoc test, only group 3 with dose of 800mg/Kg/day was found to be significant (p = 0.00) to prevent memory score deficit in white hypertensive wistar rats induced by NaCl and Prednisone. Conclusion: Jujube leaves extract (Ziziphus mauritiana Lam) can prevent memory score deficit in white wistar rats with hypertension.
