- The history of Taiwan and China is a long history of the East Asian region which is always interesting to discuss. In its development, there have been ongoing efforts by China to encourage Taiwan to meet China's reunification targets. Starting from the guarantee of fulfillment for the entire region and the well-being of the people of Taiwan also through threats to Taiwan's sovereignty. On the other hand, after the increase in military capability carried out by Taiwan through cooperation with the United States, the proposed reunification of China seems no longer a frightening thing for Taiwan. Especially after the alliance with the United States which further strengthened Taiwan to reject the reunification. The author uses balance of power and military capability as a theory to explain the extent of the influence of increasing Taiwan's military capability on the act of rejecting Taiwan over Chinese reunification.
