  • A potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one type of tuber that is well known in the social community. Many kinds of processed food products use potato tubers as the main raw material. Potato consumption needs per capita are increasing, but this is not balanced with the productivity of potatoes decreases. According to the Central Statistics Agency (2016), the harvested area of potatoes in 2014 was 76,291 ha, its production was 1,347,815 tons with the productivity of 17.67 tons/ha. While the potato harvest area in 2015 was 66,983 ha, the production was 1,219,269 tons with the productivity of 18.20 tons/ha. The low average productivity of national potatoes is a result of using seeds and improper farming techniques. One alternative to providing quality potato seeds is to use the appropriate tuber size and use of leaf fertilizer. Fertilization through leaves is a way of giving fertilizer to plants through spraying leaves. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of leaf fertilizer types and tuber size on the growth and yield of potato seeds. The research was conducted in November 2018-February 2019 in Pujon Kidul village. The experiment was carried out using Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Factorial, where factor 1 was 3 types of leaf fertilizer (GT, MM, and BL) while factor 2 was tuber size consisting of large (> 4 cm), medium (2-4 cm) ) and small (> 2 cm). Variable variables consisted of plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), stem diameter (mm) leaf area (cm2), number of branches, percentage of stolon (%) number of crop tubers, weight of plant bulbs (g), grading based on weight seed class based on its weight. The results showed that the treatment of leaf fertilizer type and tuber diameter size had an influence on the growth of plant height at 35 days after planting, the use of large tuber diameter (> 4 cm) tends to increase plant height. Stem diameter, number of leaves, the weight of tubers, and grading of bulbs of large classes (90-120 g). the use of large bulbs (> 40 g) yielded higher yields, namely fresh weight of 695.32 g of cropping and tuber production/ha of 32.68 tons/ha.
